Introduction
The focus of the fall class will be on operas to be presented by the Metropolitan Opera Live in HD, NC Opera, Washington National Opera, Houston Grand Opera, and Jewish opera singers during the 2024-2025 season.
Instructor Margie Satinsky
Margie Satinsky is a long-time opera lover who has attended more than 200 performances in the United States and Europe. She has taught opera appreciation classes since 2012, both independently and through OLLI at Duke. Her classes have focused on Highlights of the Metropolitan Opera Live in HD, Russian opera, a Tribute to Black Opera Singers, In a Different Voice (different voice types), and other special topics. Margie is a founder and President of the Triangle Wagner Society.
